BMW 288 brake lever assembly
The Model 288 hydraulic brake lever assembly from MAGURA has been manufactured in its thousands since 1988 and is mainly in service as the standard unit for various BMW models.
For the countless 288 lever assemblies currently used on motorcycles, MAGURA supplies a repair kit containing all the parts you need for a complete overhaul. After years of riding and thousands of kilometres, it is advisable to give the master cylinder a thorough clean and replace all the seals.
The kit contains the following components:
- a new piston with seals and return spring
- a piston gaiter
- a cylinder gaiter
- a new seal for the piston securing screw
- a suitable silicon brake paste
- and detailed instructions

Problemlose Reparatur

Habe mir den o.g. Reparatursatz bestellt (nach 2 Tagen kam die SMS dass er in meiner nächsten Filiale abgeholt werden kann), meinen alten Bremszylinder ohne Ausbau am Lenker zerlegt. Die Dichtringe am alten Kolben waren abgenutzt und undicht. Den Zylinder habe ich innen etwas poliert und gereinigt, anschließend den neuen Kolben montiert.
Alles was nötig ist befindet sich im Reparatursatz, wer Ahnung hat und das Arbeiten an der Bremse verantworten kann erledigt diese Reparatur in weniger als einer Stunde, incl. Bremse entlüften. mein vorderer Bremszylinder ist nun wieder dicht.
