Lithium-Ion Batteries

Good news for anyone looking for an affordable alternative to many lithium starter batteries—and who also prefers a lighter weight and smaller size than standard gel or AGM batteries. Get the power your bike needs from Saito. The advantages are clear:

Please note: Before switching to a lithium-ion battery (especially recommended for older model motorbikes), it’s best to use a voltmeter on the battery terminals to check how high the charging voltage rises when you increase the idle speed. The charging voltage should not exceed 14.6 volts if you want to enjoy your new Li-ion battery for a long time.


Good to know:

• Due to their specific properties, lead-acid batteries can only utilize 30% of their capacity, whereas lithium-ion batteries can utilize nearly 100% of their capacity. For this reason, the lithium versions of Saito batteries require only one-third of the capacity (lower amp-hours) of a comparable lead-acid battery to deliver the same starting power
• Indicator: All lithium-ion batteries are equipped with a battery status indicator

Warning!

• You should never use chargers that would desulfate deeply discharged batteries (below 10 volts) with a voltage exceeding 14.6 volts before beginning the actual charging process
• The maximum charging voltage of 14.6 volts must not be exceeded under any circumstances

Do not use the battery in explosive environments or near highly flammable liquids, gases, or dust. Do not overcharge the battery and charge it only with suitable chargers. Keep the battery, as well as any small parts and packaging films included in the package, out of the reach of children. Risk of suffocation and internal injury from small parts that could be swallowed. Keep out of reach of children under 3 years of age. Never touch the terminals with metal objects, as this can cause electric shock or a short circuit. Ensure that the positive and negative terminals are connected correctly. Do not operate the battery if it shows visible damage. Never open the casing, and do not make any modifications to the battery or its accessories. The electrolyte contained in the battery is corrosive.
