Your breathable boots are windproof and waterproof. However, the boots are only breathable if you have functional socks on your feet. While cotton socks retain moisture, functional socks first carry sweat and moisture away from the foot into the shoe. The breathable shoe membrane then takes over from there and banishes the moisture completely from the shoe, thus ensuring breathability.
